  • Bottom bracket tool
  • Cassette tool
  • Chain tool
  • Cable cutters
  • Grease
  • Carbon assembly paste

Step-by-Step Assembly

1. Prepare the Frame

Unbox your FM-CR068 frame and inspect it for any shipping damage. Ensure all necessary components and parts are included.

2. Install the Bottom Bracket

  1. Apply grease to the threads of the bottom bracket shell.
  2. Using the bottom bracket tool, install the bottom bracket into the frame. Torque to the manufacturer’s specifications.

3. Install the Headset and Fork

  1. Apply a thin layer of grease to the headset cups.
  2. Press the headset cups into the frame using a headset press tool.
  3. Install the fork through the headset bearings.
  4. Slide the integrated handlebar onto the steerer tube. Adjust the height with spacers if needed.
  5. Tighten the top cap and stem bolts to secure the fork and handlebar, ensuring the steering is smooth and free of play.

4. Install the Crankset

  1. Apply grease to the crank spindle.
  2. Slide the crankset into the bottom bracket.
  3. Attach the non-drive side crank arm and tighten to the specified torque.

5. Install the Front and Rear Derailleurs

  1. Attach the front derailleur to the frame's braze-on mount. Adjust the height and alignment as per Shimano’s instructions.
  2. Attach the rear derailleur to the derailleur hanger on the frame.

6. Install the Brake Calipers

  1. Mount the front brake caliper to the fork.
  2. Mount the rear brake caliper to the frame. Ensure they are centered over the rims.

7. Install the Chain

  1. Measure the chain length by wrapping it around the largest front and rear cogs, adding two full links.
  2. Use a chain tool to cut the chain to the correct length.
  3. Thread the chain through the derailleurs and connect it using the quick link or chain pin.

8. Install the Shifters and Cables

  1. Attach the shifters to the integrated handlebar.
  2. Run the brake and shifter cables through the appropriate guides on the frame.
  3. Connect the cables to the derailleurs and brake calipers. Adjust the tension to ensure smooth shifting and braking.

9. Install the Wheelset

  1. Mount the cassette onto the rear wheel using the cassette tool.
  2. Insert the front wheel into the fork dropouts and secure it with the quick release or thru-axle.
  3. Insert the rear wheel into the frame dropouts and secure it with the quick release or thru-axle.

10. Adjust the Brakes and Derailleurs

  1. Fine-tune the derailleur adjustments using the barrel adjusters to ensure precise shifting.
  2. Center the brake calipers and adjust the pad alignment for optimal braking performance.

11. Install the Saddle and Seatpost

  1. Apply carbon assembly paste to the seatpost.
  2. Insert the seatpost into the frame and adjust the saddle to the desired height.
  3. Tighten the seatpost clamp to the specified torque.

12. Final Checks

  1. Ensure all bolts are tightened to their specified torque settings.
